On Feb.8, 2023, Wu Jingsong, Secretary the Leading Party Members' Group of Anhui Provincial Department of Science and Technology came to AHUT for an investigation.

Lu Lin, Secretary of the Party Committee of AHUT, on behalf of AHUT, expressed warm welcome to Wu and gratitude toAnhui Provincial Department of Science and Technology (hereafter referred to as APDST) for their enduringsupport and help to AHUT. Lu pointed out that AHUT had been featured with high integration of engineering discipline, high association of discipline chain and industry chain and high match of discipline construction and local leading industries. According to Lu, AHUT would further the contact and exchange with APDST and continue to contribute scientific and technological forces to the construction of a modern and beautiful Anhui. He requested APDST to continue to provide guidance and support to AHUT in the construction of major scientific research platforms such as provincial laboratories, application of major projects, and training of young scientific and technological talents.

Wei Xianwen, President of AHUT, thanked APDST for their care and support for the scientific and technological innovation work of AHUT all the time. He mainly introduced the scientific and technological innovation work of AHUT in recent years from the aspects of scientific and technological system reform, basic research ability improvement, research platform construction, deep integration of government, industry, university and research, and the transformation of its scientific and technological achievements in Anhui. According to Wei, AHUT has implemented the action plan of Anhui Province to deepen the reform of scientific and technological innovation system and mechanism and accelerate the construction of the transformation and application system of scientific and technological achievements, deepened the pilot reform of granting ownership or long-term use right to scientific and technological achievements with official positions, and strengthened the progress of organized scientific research and transformation of achievements.

Wu fully affirmed the scientific and technological innovation work of AHUT, especially the key core technologies in the industry, the construction of scientific research platform and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. Wu pointed out that the report of the Party's 20th National Congress has made an important discussion of "three firsts" : science and technology is the primary productive force, talent is the first resource, and innovation is the first driving force, which provides a fundamental guideline for us to do a good job in scientific and technological innovation. Guided by the needs of enterprises and economic and social development, we should take the opportunity of deepening the reform of empowerment and related supporting reforms to open up the "last mile" of the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in universities and raise the level of their commercialization and industrialization. For the matters requested by the school for support, APDST will make a study carefully and deeply, provide active service and guidance, and offer suggestions together to help AHUT build a high-level innovation platform, produce high-level scientific and technological achievements, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements in Anhui, and enable the high-quality development of the province's economy and society.

Wu and his delegation visited the construction of scientific research platforms of Anhui University of Technology, such as the Key Laboratory of Advanced Metal Materials Green Preparation and Surface Technology of the Ministry of Education and the Key Laboratory of Metallurgical Engineering and Comprehensive Utilization of Resources of Anhui Province. They also visited the scientific and technological innovation achievements exhibition of the university. Wu encouraged young researchers to take the initiative to serve the major strategic needs of the country, be the main force for innovation in key core technologies, and serve local governments as the vanguard for high-quality development.
