Recently, the results of the 2022 Contemporary Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling (CUMCM) were announced.AHUT students won 1 national first prizes, 4 national second prizes, 11 provincial first prizes, 15 provincial second prizes, and 15 provincial third prizes in the 2022 CUMCM. The national first prize winners are Ning Weilong, Zheng Yue and Wang Lei who jointly completed the project titled “Research on Composition Analysis and Identification of Glass Products Based on SVM”.

CUMCM is an annual contest of fundamental discipline with the largest scale of undergraduate participants from higher institutions in China and all over the world. It is organized by CSIAM (China Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics) and has been held annually since 1992. It aims at cultivating innovative awareness and competence in solving complex problems by using mathematical methods.

In the year of 2022, 54257 teams (more than 160000 students) from over 1600 institutions (including those in the UK, Malaysia, etc.) participated in the contest and 361 projects were awarded national first prizes in total.
