On March 16th, School of International Education (SIE) held a conference on " First Lesson & New Semester" in Jiaonan 608. Leaders, tutors and all 107 international students on campus attended the meeting.
Dr. Hu Shangui, dean of SIE, reviewed teaching and cultural activities, efforts of epidemic prevention and control last semester and acknowledged positive and aggressive spirit of international students on campus during this difficult period. He also awarded certificates to students who successfully passed the HSK (Chinese Language Proficiency Test), which was held first time at AHUT. Dr. Hu encouraged students to register the HSK test to improve their Chinese, learn Chinese culture and to be an ambassador to tell more Chinese stories to people of their country. For the new semester, Dr. Hu raised his hopes. Firstly, all students should abide by the regulations arranged for pandemic prevention and control. Secondly, students are expected to insist on online learning activities, especially during the pandemic period when most of the students have left the campus. Finally, students are encouraged to engage themselves in cultural activities to improve their cross-cultural understanding ability.
Zhang Kanmin, a tutor of SIE, announced the school's activity arrangement for this semester, emphasizing the requirements of online teaching, school rules and regulations, safety protection and related requirements of epidemic prevention and control measures. He also gave guidance on graduation issues to students who are about to graduate in 2017.
The conference is aimed at helping students adjust themselves to the new semester in a sooner manner, plan their time reasonably, and start their study and life of the new semester devotedly.
