1. Introduction to Anhui University of Technology

Founded in 1958, Anhui University of Technology (AHUT) is a comprehensive university offering well-developed programs in engineering, science, humanities, economics, management, law and arts，with its time-honored engineering programs as the focus. It is located in Ma’anshan, Anhui Province, a “National Civilized City”. It has convenient transportation to Nanjing (18 mins by high-speed train) and Shanghai (120 mins by high-speed train). AHUT, consisting of 2 campuses, covers a total area of 1.69 million square meters and the total area of school buildings is 840,300 square meters). It has teaching and scientific research equipment with a total value of 726 million RMB and its libraries have a collection of 2 million books and 135 databases. Currently, AHUT has 2,230 faculty members, including 224 professors and 511 associate professors and 931 faculty members with doctoral degrees. By the end of 2024, there were 34,000 full-time students and 244 international students studying in AHUT.

AHUT is composed of 17 schools. It offers 60 bachelor-degree programs, 20 of which are listed as national-level first-class undergraduate programs. Additionally, there are 19 master-degree programs of first-level disciplines, 17 professional master-degree categories, 5 doctoral-degree programs of first-level disciplines, 1 doctoral degree program and 2 post-doctoral research centers. So far, 15 bachelor-degree programs have passed the professional evaluation organized by Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Among provincial universities, AHUT ranks first in this regard, and it ranks 54^th nationwide.

AHUT is jointly supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Anhui Provincial Government. It is listed in the national “Education Power Promotion Project”, named as one of the top 50 model universities in innovative entrepreneurship practices, included in MOE’s “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Project”, and recognized as an “Anhui High - level University with Local Characteristics”. Its disciplines of Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry and Computer Science have been ranked in the top 1% of ESI. And Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry are ranked in the top 0.5% globally. Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering and Chemistry were selected as Peak Disciplines in Anhui Province. According to “2024 Academic Ranking of World Universities” (ARWU), AHUT was listed as one of the top 900, ranking 185th among Chinese universities in the 2024 China’s Soft Science rankings, and 177th in the Chinese Mainland according to the 2024 Nature Index rankings. According to the list of “Highly Cited Scientists” annually released by Clarivate Analytics, in the past three years, 7 experts from 3 disciplines of AHUT have been selected, ranking first among provincial universities. Since 2021, AHUT students have won numerous awards in various discipline competitions. They have obtained 58 international awards, 1,564 national awards, and 3,866 provincial awards. Among these, there are 37 national first prizes in Category A competitions, such as the National College Students' Engineering Practice and Innovation Competition. In the “Challenge Cup” scientific and technological competition, they won the first national special prize among provincial universities, as well as the first national “Winning Cup”. In the Robot World Cup China, they achieved seven championships, four runner - ups and one third - place finish.

In terms of international exchange, AHUT has established cooperative relations with nearly 100 foreign universities, undertaking a number of international research cooperation projects. AHUT joined the "Belt and Road" University - Enterprise Alliance for Talent Training and obtained the qualification of the Chinese Proficiency Test Institution affiliated with the Sino - foreign Language Exchange Cooperation Center and the test center for Cross - cultural Communication of Chinese Teachers under the China International Communication Group, CICG.

International Trade (Business)

Program Introduction: This program was established in 1985 and officially began enrollment in 1988. In 2012, it was approved to establish a master's degree program in international trade. In 2014, it began to enroll international students at both bachelor and master degrees. There are 19 faculty members in this program, including 5 professors, 5 associate professors, 6 doctors, 16 masters, among whom 7 teachers with overseas study and visiting experience.

Cultivation Objectives: This program aims at the cultivation of advanced, specialized and interdisciplinary talents for doing business and management in foreign economic & trade sectors and multinational companies and for doing research on teaching in teaching & research institutions. Graduates will have a good mastery of the fundamentals of economics, basic theories and practice of international trade, the development of modern international economics & trade, the social, economic, and cultural conditions of major trading partners，and the present status of modern science & technology and future trends with proficiency in Chinese and have basic abilities in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation. Graduates will be familiar with the prevailing rules and practices of international trade as well as China’s foreign economic & trade policies and regulations.

Civil Engineering

Program Introduction: Being classified as the national first-class level, it is rewarded as 'Characteristic Major' and 'Excellence Program' in Anhui Province and has passed the professional engineering evaluation organized by Ministry of Education. It has gotten Engineering Education Certifications from Ministry of Education of China. Currently, it has two divisions, (i.e., Construction Engineering and Bridge Engineering), a first-level Master Discipline in Civil Engineering, a second-level Master Discipline in Safety Engineering, and a Professional Master Discipline in Civil Engineering and Water Conservancy. Besides this, it is qualified to recruit foreign undergraduate, master students. Aiming at being famous high-level characteristic university in China, this program cultivates students to be talents to serve the country and the world. We cultivate high-quality application-oriented professionals who are competent in engineering design, construction, operation, project management, engineering problem solving and analysis with lifelong learning, innovation, global vision and leadership abilities.

Program Introduction: This major began enrollment in 2013 and currently it is the provincial first-class undergraduate major construction point, the provincial excellent engineer construction major, the provincial revitalization Plan support construction major, and the provincial "six excellence, one top" excellent software engineer training major. And now, it has a provincial platform of Anhui Province "Industrial Internet Intelligent Application and Security" engineering research center. Combined with the engineering industry background of Anhui University of Technology, it creates professional features based on the Industrial Internet of Things and its intelligent applications. This major focuses on learning software engineering theory and techniques for software requirement analysis, modeling, design, development, testing and maintenance. This major is a multidisciplinary field that combines computer science, electronics, software, and other disciplines.

Computer Technology

Discipline Introduction: This program began to cultivate undergraduate students in the direction of computer science in 1985 and it has begun to recruit postgraduate students since 2004. Now, it was approved to accept the postgraduate students in the First-level discipline of Computer Science and Technology. Aiming to explore the academic foreland and serve the country's prominent strategic needs, we have researched the common basic theories and key technologies in the field. After long-term accumulation, we have incubated four major research directions: computer network and distributed computing, computer vision and machine learning, data mining and intelligent computing, and complex systems and intelligent control. At present, there are Anhui Provincial Industrial Internet Intelligent Application and Safety Engineering Research Center as well as the Anhui Provincial Key Laboratory for Metallurgical Industry Digital Twin Technology, among other discipline construction platforms, focusing on the frontiers of intelligent Internet of things, industrial Internet, computer vision and intelligent perception, multi-label learning, and complex system networks and robust control.

Cultivation Objectives: The program aims at the cultivation of advanced specialists in Computer Science and Technology who would have the research abilities in computer theory, and can engage in design and development of software/hardware system, or can solve the practical problems by using computer technologies. Through the three years study, the graduates are expected to master the advance theories, knowledge of mathematics and computer science, be able to use techniques and modern software development tools necessary for computing practice, master at least one programming language and acquaintance with at least three more, be able to communicate effectively and work both individually and collaboratively, have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes for lifelong self-development. Graduates are also expected to have the ability to apply computer knowledge to solve both theoretical and especially practical problems, to analyze and design computer systems, to analyze, design, and implement computer programs, to apply problem-solving strategies to new problems.

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport and good health condition.

2. Language Requirement:

For English-taught programs, the language proficiency requirement of IELTS 5.5 (academic module) or TOFEL (IBT) 70 or equivalent level tested by the university is required for applicants whose official language is not English. If applicant’s senior high school programs are of English medium, the above language requirement is waived, an official teaching language certification is required.

3. Senior high school graduates or above. Students about to graduate before June 2025 should provide the Pre-Graduation Certificate issued by current schools, and the original hard copy of diploma should be brought upon registration.

4. Applicants under 18 by Sept. 1st, 2025 should submit a Guarantee Letter from Guardian in China (Attachment 1).

Master-degree Applicants

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens above 18 with a valid foreign passport and good health condition.

2. Language Requirement:

For English-taught programs, the language proficiency requirement of IELTS 6.0 (academic module) or TOFEL (IBT) 80 or equivalent level tested by the university is required for applicants whose official language is not English. If applicant’s programs for the highest diploma are of English medium, the above language requirement is waived, an official teaching language certification is required.
