Recently, the "AHUT Forum" on New College Entrance Exam Reform and Campus Open Day took place at Anhui University of Technology (AHUT). Representatives from over 100 high schools, universities, and admissions examination institutions across Jiangsu and Anhui provinces gathered to explore new pathways for collaborative talent cultivation under the backdrop of China’s evolving college entrance exam system. At the forum, theMa’anshanInitiative for Science Education Collaboration BetweenSu-Wan Universities and High Schoolswas unveiled, calling for the establishment of a linkage mechanism among universities, high schools, and examination authorities to extend cutting-edge university scientific resources to basic education and inject new momentum into fostering adolescents’ scientific literacy.

AHUT has actively promoted science education in recent years. Relying on its provincial-level science education base, the university has established specialized venues such as a physics demonstration hall and a lighting and illumination exhibition hall, developing over 40 interactive exhibits like "maglev globes" and "fiber-optic communication simulations." These facilities welcome an average of 500 primary and middle school students annually. Its graduatestudent teaching corps launched the "Science Spark Program" inLezhiCounty, Sichuan, designing fun experiments like "water rocket construction" and "rainbow density towers" for rural schoolchildren. University volunteers also regularly host "mobile laboratory" activities inMa’anshancommunities, benefiting over 10,000 residents.

In a key initiative, AHUT partnered withMa’anshanNo. 2 High School to establish a "Science Education Co-Creation Base," appointing a professor from the School of Metallurgical Engineering as the high school’s vice principal for science education to tailor "science popularization menus." More than 20 experts in metallurgy, materials science, and artificial intelligence have been selected to form a "Professor Science Popularization Team," delivering lectures in middle and high schools. "Science education is the cornerstone of cultivating innovative talent," said Lu Lin, Party Secretary of AHUT. "Universities have a responsibility to serve as a ‘radiation source’ for scienceeducation, joining hands with basic education to ignite scientific curiosity."
