Zheng Weicheng (Metallurgical Engineering, masterdegree candidate) recently won the Chinese Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award in recognition of his outstanding achievements in science and innovation.
Zheng has participated in several research projects in the field of steel-making slag under the supervision of Prof. Long Hongming and Associate Prof. Zhang Hao. He was once a visiting graduate student in the Spring term of 2020 and joined the research group directed by Dr. Charles Xu, a Canadian academician in Western University, Canada. Up to now, Zheng has been authorized 8 national patents, published 7 academic articles and won awards in various innovation contests.
Administered by institutions including the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) central committee and the All-China Youth Federation, the award has been given to a total of 1279 primary and middle school students as well as university students. (Sheng Laping)
