On December 26, the High-level Industrial Characteristic University Alliance of Yangtze River Delta was established in China Jiliang University. President Wei Xianwen attended the meeting and delivered a keynote report entitled "Reform and Development of Universities with Local Characteristics: Apprehension, Practice and Reflection".
Wei Xianwen pointed out that industrial universities are pioneers of modern higher education in China and play a key role in the development of the industry. Based on the characteristic development, reform and practice of AHUT, he focused on how to take the initiative to align with national development strategies, concentrate on the cultivation of innovative talents, deepen education reform, advance the integration of industry and education, reconstruct the pathway of development, and promote the organic connection of education chain, talent chain, industrial chain and innovation chain.
Wei Xianwen stressed that factors like the upgrading development of national economic and industrial transformation, the popularization of higher education, the development of economic industry during the intelligent era demand urgently of industrial talents with high-quality. Therefore, industrial colleges and universities should capture the talent demand information of the emerging economy industry in time to reshape the relationship with industries
Leaders of alliance universities signed the"Cooperation Agreement of the High-Level Industrial Characteristic University Alliance of Yangtze River Delta” at the meeting, and jointly issued the"Declaration of Hangzhou of the High-Level Industrial Characteristic University Alliance of Yangtze River Delta”. They signified that the alliance will discuss cooperation, build cooperative platforms, share cooperative results, and carry out project-based cooperation in the field of the study of school-running strategy, co-construction and sharing platform resources, talent cultivation, social services to make concerted efforts to help the high-level characteristic universities in the Yangtze River Delta, to improve their educational strength and social influence, to better serve and support the industry and regional development, strengthen the construction of regional innovation and competition capability, and to contribute more to the higher education modernization and economic and social development of Yangtze River Delta. Alliance universities exchanged their experience in running schools with different industrial characteristics.
High-level industrial characteristic university alliance of Yangtze river delta was jointly launched by China Jiliang University, Anhui University of Technology, Anhui University of Science and Technology, Hangzhou Dianzi University, Jiangsu Ocean University, Jiangsu University Of Science and Technology, Suzhou University of Science and Technology, Nanjing Audit University, Nanjing University Of Information Science and Technology, Shanghai University of Electric Power, Shanghai Customs College, Zhejiang Ocean University, Zhejiang Sci-tech University and other 13 universities. The establishment of the alliance is an innovative practice to lead the high-quality development of higher education in the Yangtze River Delta, accelerate the construction of "double first-class", and serve the national strategy and the economic and social development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Directors of the General Administration Office and Office of Development and Planning of AHUT attended the meeting. Fang Dachun, deputy director of the Office of Development and Planning of AHUT was elected deputy director of the Secretariat of the High-level Industrial Characteristic University Alliance of Yangtze River Delta.
