According to the latest statistics by Essential Science Indicators (ESI), AHUT rises in ranking among academic institutions that have disciplines ranking top 1% in ESI. AHUT moves up 45 places to 174th in mainland China, compared with the data in September. Currently, Materials Science, Engineering and Chemistry of AHUT rank among ESI Global Disciplines Ranking Top 1% and the number of ESI highly cited papers and hot papers increase to 47 and 5.

ESI, the basic analysis evaluating tool, was produced by Institute for Scientific Information, the world-famous academic information publishing organization in 2001 to measure scientific research performance. It has become one of the crucial evaluation quota tools universally used for evaluating international academic level and influence of universities and academic institutions from different countries or regions.
