From April 2nd to 4th, the eighth meeting of the seventh session of Metallurgical Engineering Evaluation Group of State Council Degree Committee Office and the seminar on disciplinary construction was held in Ma’anshan, organized by Anhui University of Technology.

The Evaluation Group was composed of experts from University of Science and Technology Beijing, Northeastern University, North China University of Science and Technology, Central South University and some other universities. President Wei Xianwen, Vice President Lin Zhonggao, administrators from Graduate School and School of Metallurgyand Engineering as well as teachers’ representatives attended the meeting.

In the welcome speech given by President Wei, he introduced AHUT from the aspects of historical evolution, teaching staff, talent training and discipline construction. Professor Xing Xianran from University of Science and Technology Beijing thanked AHUT for providing the platform for the meeting and conveyed the spirit of 2018 working conference for Disciplinary Evaluation Group and Guiding Committee of Education of State Council Degree Committee Office.

The meeting was held to conduct study on the discipline construction of metallurgical engineering in AHUT and University of Science and Technology Beijing, and to carry out the compilation of the core course guide and reference catalogue on the basis of the researches on postgraduate courses of metallurgical engineering.

Professor Wang Haichuan, executive dean of School of Metallurgical Engineering, made a report entitled “the Construction of Metallurgical Engineering as a First-Level Discipline in School of Metallurgical Engineering at AHUT”. The participating experts carried on a discussion on the report and put forward some guiding suggestions on the discipline construction of Metallurgical Engineering at AHUT.
