On the afternoon of October 11, the opening ceremony for AHUT 2017 international students was held at the conference center of Jiashan campus. President Li Jiaxin, Mr. Liu Baoli (Executive Secretary of Organizing Committee of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week), Mr. Yu Shucheng (Vice President of The Belt and Road, School-enterprise Alliance of Talent Cultivation, China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week), and Mr. Hong Yunzhi (President of Anhui Institute of International Students Management) attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Gu Mingyan.

President Li Jiaxin warmly welcomed more than 150 international students from over 30 countries on behalf of AHUT. He hoped that international students would be ambitious, loving and friendly, and to become “Cultural Ambassadors” and “Peace Ambassadors” in the near future for the prosperity of the world’s multicultural development and lasting peace.

Mr. Liu Baoli introduced the development of  talent training in “The Belt and Road” on behalf of the Organizing Committee of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week. He encouraged students to gain knowledge, skills, friendship and success in AHUT.

Ms. Song Jing delivered a speech on behalf of teachers. Besides, Ali as a junior student representative and Mahadi Hasant as a new doctoral candidate also gave their speeches.

New progress has been made in the enrollment and education of international students in 2017. At present, more than 150 freshmen from 34 countries have enrolled. They are to study English-teaching courses in the undergraduate and graduate programmes of International Trade, Computer Science and Technology, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Pharmaceutical Engineering, and doctoral programmes of Material Science and Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering.
