AHUT Students Forum on the Belt and Road Initiative Held

As part of the Extra Curriculum Activities in building innovative skills, practicalability, professional knowledge and excellency in learning, a student Forum on OneBELT, One Road Initiative: People – to – People Bond was jointly held by Schoolof International Education and School of Foreign Languages of AHUT on the 24th May, 2017.

TheBelt and Road Initiative comprising of the New Silk Road Economic Belt and the21st Century Maritime Silk Road is a development strategy and framework based on the ancient silk road concepts and routes. In the aspect ofconnecting the Asia Pacific circle in the east, and the European economic circle in the west. It was prudent for both national and international studentsat AHUT to discuss various activities that would unite all member countries falling under the Belt and Road initiative and the country at large.

The forum began with a speech made by Vice President Gu Mingyan. Deans from the schools attendedthe forum and gave insights about what the Belt and Road Initiative was aboutand its impact on the economic growth of various countries and the world. Presentations were made by students from the school of International Students and the Schoolof Foreign Languages on topics concerning African History, Chinese Food, BangladeshSports and Chinese Clothes depicting cultural instincts that can help bind people from various countries under one umbrella.

Following the presentations,there were group discussions about these topics to let students give their opinions and suggestions as to how to create a conducive atmosphere for consistency as this initiative continues to reign.

After several discussions and conclusions drawn, the forum came to a successful end. All the participants spoke highly of the forum with regard to developing and strengthening students’intelligence, research and advancing educational approaches. The students expressed their craving for more such forums.
