In March 23, the 24th Annual Awarding Ceremony of “Huangshan Friendship Award” and Foreign Experts Forum took place in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province. Li Guoying, Governor of Anhui Province presented in this event and gave awards to the winners. Dr. Aleksandar Rodic, a visiting professor in School of Mechanical Engineering of AHUT, was among the winners and attended the ceremony.
As a professor and director of Pupin Robotics Institute of University of Belgrade, Serbia, Dr. Rodic has cooperated with Professor Xu Xiangrong and Shan Jiangrong from School of Mechanical Engineering of AHUT in the robotic team undertaking several China & Central Europe(Serbia) intergovernmental technological projects supported by China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, high-end foreign experts’ project of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) as well as overseas cooperative technological development project supported by Anhui Technological Department.
With experience of working in China many times, Dr. Rodic was invited to “Foreign Experts Jianghuai Tour” during his stay in AHUT, visiting University of Science and Technology of China, Wuhu EFORT Intelligent Equipment Co.Ltd, Wuhu Hart Robot Research Institute, Giant(hydraulic pressure) I-Equipment Co.Ltd, Anhui Hissed Robot Company Limited, Ma’anshan and Hefei Taihe Optoelectronic Technology Co.Ltd as well as a number of colleges and universities in Anhui. Dr. Rodic has published over a dozen books and hundreds of research papers on robots. In 2016, he was appointed as the president of RAAD, Europe.
“Huangshan Friendship Award” was established in 1995 as the highest honor given by Anhui Provincial Government to foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to Anhui province. The 16 award winners this year are from 9 different countries: America, Germany, Japan, Serbia, South Korea, Ukraine, Luxembourg, Isreal and Canada. They work in companies, universities, and research institutions in Anhui and have made prominent contributions to the economic and social development of Anhui Province.
