On the 27th of December, 2016, a New Year’s Party was held at the Student Activity Center of Xiushan Campus, AHUT. It’s an annual event that marks the end of the year and welcomes students and teachers of the university into the New Year. The University President, Prof. Li jiaxin,Vice-President, Prof. Gu Mingyan and faculties from various schools togetherwith Chinese and international students convene in one room for the event.

The shows started at 7pm with a good-humored bilingualcurtain raiser from the international students elaborating their first day experiences in Anhui University of Technology. Among the total amazing 14 shows, the international students presented 10 that had the crowdcheering on. The Bangladesh song, the Comoros Cultural Dance, Chinese song by astudent from Comoros, Pakistan dance, a fashion show with representatives from different countries show-casing their countries’ forms of dressing, etc. demonstrated their own cultures and good command of Chinese language.

The Chinese shows of Huangmei Opera, theaerobics performance, Chinese traditional dance, the Chinese songs of rock androll from the Manlu band exhilarated the audience, especially the international students.

Throughout the shows, the crowd was vibrant and fascinated greatly and the hall was filled with screams of excitement. The impressive shows gave the faculty and students a chance to get access to multi-cultures directly and brought them good wishes for the coming New Year.
