On the morning of September 9, the opening ceremony for the 2012’ new postgradautes was held at the east campus of Anhui University of Technology. President Li Jiaxin, VP Lin Zhonggao, VP Ge Lusheng and VP Gu Mingyan attended the ceremony which was chaired by VP Ge Lusheng.

President Li Jiaxin gave an enthusiastic speech at the ceremony. He extended his warmest welcome to the new postgraduates and introduced the general information about the university as well as the achievements made for postgraduate education these years to increase the university’s comprehensive strength and core competitiveness. He rasied three hopes for the new comers including cultivation of innovative spirit and ability, mastering of scientific research methods and upholding of good academic ethics.

As the representative of supervisors, Dr. Chang Lizhong from the School of Metallurgy and Resources shared his experiences in scientific research. The postgraduate Mr. Hou Xiaozhao from the Department of Applied Mathematics also shared his personal sentiments about his study at AHUT. The new postgraduate from the School of Electrical Information and Technology representing the new comers expressed his determination to carry forward the university’s fine ethos and style to study hard.

After the ceremony, the new postgraduates will join in three days’ orientation.
