On the morning of September 16，Professor Zhang Jie, Academician from Chinese Academy of Engineering visited AHUT and gave a lecture on Recovery of Water Environment and Healthy Recycling of City Water System to the university staff and students from School of Construction Engineering. Parts of students from Wentian College, Hehai University and officials from the city civil and planning department. The lecture convention was chaired by Dean Chen Guang of School of Construction Engineering.

After the lecture, hosted by VP Wei Xianwen, Professor Zhang gave special guidances to the work done by the MOE Engineering Center of The Biofilm Water Purification and Application Technology and key disciplines of environment engineering. Related department officials joined in the communication.

President Li Jiaxin also met Academician Zhang and had a very detailed conversation with Professor about the long-term development of the university’s environment science and engineering discipline.

Academician Zhang Jie graduated from Osaka University, Japan in 1987 with his doctor degree in environment engineering. He was ever the chief engineer and vice dean for China Northeast Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute. And he is the member of Science and Technology Committee of Ministry of Housing, Acadmic Committee for Higher Institutions’Discipline of Water Supply and Drainage Engineering, Vice Chairman of Water Industry Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society, Advisor for the Journal Water Supply and Drainage, Editor for China Water Supply and Drainage. He was elected to Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1997 and is the professor and doctor-degree supervisor for Beijing University of Technology and Harbin Institute of Technology.
