On the morning of May 21，the graduate commencement ceremony was held for awarding master degrees of engineering to the employees from Laiwu Iron and Steel Group at the Academic Hall of Anhui University of Technology. The Chair of University Degrees Awarding Committee, President Li Jiaxin, Vice Chair of University Degrees Awarding Committee, VP Professor Ge Lusheng, HR Director Lin Baoguo from Laiwu Iron and Steel Group, Director of Disciplinary Construction Department Professor Zheng Mingdong, Dean of Postgraduate School Professor Pan Ziwei, Dean of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Professor Cui Ping and other professors, students receiving their degrees and postgraduate representatives joined in the ceremony which was hosted by Professor Pan Ziwei.

VP Professor Ge Lusheng delivered a speech on behalf of the university. He mentioned that the postgraduate education is an important measure taken to create more talents and increase the group’s core competitiveness. AHUT always lays importance on cultivating engineering masters and the combinations of production, learning and research while adhering to the principles of strict management, regulated teaching and ensured quality and have successfully trained a large group of researching, professional and manufacturing talents who have devoted themselves to the development of the group. He was also affirmative about the students’ academic acheivements and scientific rennovations made during their study period and hoped that those students should continue their study to increase their both thereotical and technical techniques to make more contributions to the group and add more glory for the university.

Mr. Lin Baoguo expressed his gratitude on behalf of the group. He said that Anhui University of Technology is a long-term strategic partner of Laiwu Iron and Steel Group and offered great support and generous help to build up the group’s talents teams and scientific innovations. He hoped both sides would mantain sound cooperative partnership and those students who received the degrees should make full use of what they had learned in their positions to make new contributions to the group.

President Li read the name list of the students who earned their degrees and awarded them the degree certificates.

   

   

Since 2003, AHUT has started to offer engineering master degrees and recruited almost 100 students from Laiwu Iron and Steel Group. Both sides have established Master-degree Joint Training Base as a platform to train high-level talents for the group. After the ceremony, both sides discussed how to strengthen cooperations and widen cooperative channels to set up long-term stable talents-training modes to continuously develop cooperative partnership to a higher level.
