AHUT Makes Breakthrough with First Science Publication as Corresponding Unit

Dr. Wang Dan from AHUT's School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has co-authored a study in Science, introducing cavitation principles to the field of light-driven soft robotics. This marks AHUT’s first publication as a corresponding unit in the prestigious journal.

Dr. Wang Dan from the Functional Polymer Research Group at AHUT‘s School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, in collaboration with Associate Professor Wang Dalei of Zhejiang A&F University and Professor He Ximin of the University of California, Los Angeles, has achieved a significant breakthrough in the field of cavitation-based light-driven soft robotics. The study marks the first application of cavitation principles to biomimetic actuators. The findings were published in Science, with AHUT serving as a corresponding unit — the first time the University has published in the journal in this capacity.

Science is one of the world’s most prestigious scientific journals, renowned for publishing breakthrough original research across all natural science disciplines. The journal maintains a rigorous peer-review process with an acceptance rate of less than 10% and boasts a five-year average impact factor of 49.7.

This achievement underscores AHUT’s growing international academic influence and reflects the University’s sustained efforts to recruit and nurture high-level research talent. By aligning research priorities with major national strategies and fundamental scientific challenges, AHUT has significantly increased its publication output in top-tier international journals, providing strong support for its goal of becoming a nationally leading, high-level university with distinctive strengths.
