Professor Zeng Jie, Vice President of Anhui University of Technology (AHUT), won The 2023 XPLORER PRIZE (Chinese:科学探索奖) organised by the Tencent Foundation for his fundamental research on Oxygen Electrocatalysis and beyond. It is the first time for AHUT’s scholar to win this prize.

The XPLORER PRIZE is a nonprofit and non-governmental award funded by Tencent. It was launched in 2018 by Chen Ning YANG, RAO Yi, CHEN Shiyi, CHENG Taining, GAO Wen, HE Huawu, LI Peigen, MAO Shude, PAN Jianwei, SHI Yigong, WU Hequan, XIE Kechang, XIE Xiaoliang, ZHANG Yitang and MA Huateng, Founder of Tencent. The XPLORER PRIZE supports promising young candidates to unleash their full potential and push the frontiers of basic science and frontier technologies by providing no-strings-attached funding.

Each winner will get a sum of 3 million RMB, paid in five annual installments of 600,000 RMB.
